2011 Can-AM® Spyder® RT SM5

The RT in the Can-Am® Spyder® RT name is not for “Road Trip” (it’s Roadster Touring), but you’d be hard pressed to find a more perfect vehicle for escaping the everyday and heading out of town. The unique three-wheeled vehicle from Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) combines the open-air freedom of a motorcycle with the peace-of-mind of a sports car – and in the RT model’s case, adds a long list of luxury comfort features that make racking up the miles solo, or with a companion, easy and fun.

BRP® designed the Spyder® RT from its first sketch to be comfortable long-distance cruiser. The riding position is more upright than the more performance-oriented Spyder® RS and the body is wider for excellent wind protection. Both driver and passenger are made comfortable by the luxury saddle with lumbar supports.

Power comes from the Rotax® 991 electronically fuel injected V-Twin engine, generating 100 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 80 lb.-ft. of torque at just 5,000 rpm. It’s ideal for getting up to speed fully loaded, passing, and just cruising (made easier with a standard electronic cruise control).
